Every family needs an "Unc"

When I was 15 years old, my parents received a phone call.  It was from Wood County Department of Human Services.  They needed a home for a 3 month old little boy.  And from that moment on, our lives changed forever.  We went to Ken and Penny and the girls to Ken, Penny, the girls and Joe.

My parents adopted Joe on his 4th birthday, but he was a Taylor WAY before then.  My brother grew up with 4 extra mothers older sisters.  He went everywhere with us!  High school football games, basketball games, etc.  Then we all grew up and moved away...

Joe is now 17 (yikes!), and he has 4 nephews, 3 nieces, and one on the way.  Our boys decided to start calling him "Unc" since they also have an Uncle Joe on Chris' side of the family.  The boys don't get to see him nearly as often as they would like, but each time is a great time had by all!

Every Thanksgiving, my parents come to our house and we do Thanksgiving and Christmas all in one weekend, and this year was no different.  Except that Unc was with them...

The boys had a playmate staying with them, Chris had someone to hang Christmas lights for with him, and we were able to spend time with Joe.  It was a lovely weekend.  I pray that each one of my boys realize what a blessing my brother is.  He is still young enough that he will play with them, doing whatever they want him to do.  I also pray that my brother realizes what a blessing he is to my boys.

Dear Joe - I pray that you realize not only the gifts that you have been given, but also the gift that you ARE!  We love you!!!
